Knowing how you are getting abroad is very important step into determining the logistics, funding opportunities, itinerary, and effort needed into having a good successful time. I will list the main four routes people can go and the typical pros and cons of each.

Vacation (tourist visa)

This is the most common type of abroad opportunities. You might now this as the 90 day visa depending on what you watch on television. It gets its name because when American go on tourist they are allowed 90 days to stay in the country if the host country accepts US tourist visa.

A study abroad program typically involves a student pursuing part of their academic studies in a foreign country. These programs offer students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different culture while continuing their education. Depending on the program, students may attend classes at a foreign university, participate in internships, conduct research, or engage in experiential learning activities related to their field of study. Study abroad experiences can vary in duration from a few weeks to an entire academic year, and they often provide students with valuable cross-cultural skills, language proficiency, and global perspective

Work abroad

Working abroad involves obtaining employment in a foreign country. Similar to study abroad programs, working abroad offers individuals the opportunity to experience life in a different culture while earning an income. Working abroad can take various forms, including short-term contracts, internships, volunteer positions, or permanent employment. Some common examples of working abroad include teaching English as a foreign language, participating in international internships, working for multinational corporations, engaging in seasonal work such as fruit picking or hospitality jobs, or pursuing careers in fields that require global mobility, such as diplomacy, international development, or tourism.

ProsCons
Most companies will help you relocated, visa paperwork, stipends to make the transition easier.your visa is tied to your job. Once your jobs ends so does your visa.

longer time to be in the country. After 5 year, there is a possibility of dual citizenship. This has a lot of paperwork.
There are cultural trainings that are available by some companies. It is more difficult to find an opportunity than study abroad and vacation

Entrepreneur/Start up visa

An entrepreneur visa, also known as a startup visa or business visa, is a type of visa designed to facilitate immigration for individuals who wish to start a business or invest in a foreign country. These visas are typically offered by countries that seek to attract entrepreneurs, innovators, and investors to contribute to their economies and create jobs.

proscons
Your visa isn’t tied to a school or business. Have to meet the requirements before being eligible to apply for a visa. The option with the most requirement and proof. (The most amount of planning)

As I have not went as worker nor entrepreneur, I can’t knowledgeably speak on those matter, but I will speak on the student portion and the vacation portion because those have the most similarity out of the four options.

Stay tune for when I talk about those.
